Systemizing, organizing and visually updating the Xcel Energy Connect blog
UI DESIGN . ART DIRECTION
While at space150, I got the opportunity to redesign, visually organize, and systemize Xcel Energy’s existing blog, Connect. I worked on a team consisting of a UX designer, and developer that coded all of my designs into an editable wordpress. We first tackled organizing the four categories of content Xcel Energy would be posting about, and then I created color palettes and icons for all of them. I used Sketch to flesh out the designs of the blog that ranged from the homepage to small interior pages. I stuck to the primary color palette the brand used to identify itself, made the pages much more sharable and legible, and allowed photography to show the beauty of the work Xcel Energy is doing.
