Aveda received the opportunity to lead a panel on sustainability in fashion and beauty at the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) Innovation in Sustainability conference. Leadership immediately saw it as a way to announce and create buzz around Aveda’s corporate responsibility initiatives as well.

I seized the opportunity to work on the team that hired Zeus Jones and quickly the idea of a sustainable and interactive installation in the FIT lobby came to life. The installation consisted of over 14,000 recycled Aveda bottles that were made of 100% post-consumer plastic, and post-consumer plastic plants on the other side. Plant Beauty became Aveda’s declaration of their commitment to being leaders in sustainable fashion and beauty.

For the project I helped guide the Zeus Jones team creatively, designed the sustainable future landing page on aveda.com under a restrictive CMS and worked internally with their social team the week of the event to see through content creation and posting. The event received praise from the top leadership at Estée Lauder Companies and fashion partner Phillip Lim who participated in the panel discussion.
